Plymouth, Minnesota - April 8, 2009 - Competition in the classified listing service is heating up as newcomer and serious contender TikiWade.com begins to release its ease-of-use, elegant user interface, and standards-based Web platform to the market. The company intends to take a model that was made popular by craigslist and turn it into a platform that is not only user and business friendly, but also family friendly too.
"This market has a lot of room for improvement" according to Wade Girard, Co-Founder of TikiWade.com. Currently the leader in this area, craigslist, is consistently in the top 50 Web properties as ranked by Comscore's Media Matrix; however, they are also consistently in the media spotlight because of various illegal activities that are originating from their Web site. "TikiWade.com's goal is to leave the personals where they belong, to sites that specialize in personals. We just want to provide the best platform that we can for everything else!" says Wade.
The focus when creating TikiWade.com was to keep it simple, easy-to-use, and low on non-essential features that tend to get in the way of doing the basics of creating and searching through listings. Tikiwade.com's founders also focused on keeping the site family friendly by not having personals and by adding in a mix of social networking tools like voting on listings and sharing listings on popular social networking sites like facebook, myspace, and even twitter. Inclusion of video for media with a listing is another enhancement not found on many similar sites.
Co-Founder and CEO Wade Girard is a computer programmer with more than 15 years experience. Now working on several technologies at various companies, he started TikiWade.com as a side project that recently has taken a front seat to his daily routine. Wade says that the more people he shows this too, the more people get excited about it and say, "Yea, I'd use that over craigslist!!".
We've put our heart into this site, including the values that we want to demonstrate in our new company," added co-founder Brad Brager. "We're setting up the non-profit TikiWade Foundation so that we can give the first 10% of any profit back to those who need it most in our local communities. We're launching TikiWade.com in our home state and we're excited to see Minnesota fall in love with it!"
TikiWade.com, LLC. was officially formed in February 2008 as a classified listing service for advertisements in merchandise (items), real estate, jobs, and professional services, allowing individuals and businesses to market goods and services locally, regionally, and nationally.
